THE POSTMAN DELIVERS...AGAIN!

This is why I love sport. Poulter only got into Ryder Cup as a 'captain's pick'. Essentially, a wildcard. But he repaid his captain's faith by securing a vital point that gave Europe another Ryder Cup win.

In a previous blog, I wrote about Ian Poulter's role in Medinah 2012. Refusing to be beaten as he inspired his team-mates to an astonishing comeback. Ryder Cup 2018 has been heavily influenced by him yet again. This time, he came into the Sunday singles session, having gained one point and lost two. He'd played well personally but ended up on the losing side twice on the Saturday.

His opponent for Sunday was Dustin Johnson, ranked number 1 in the world, 33 places ahead of Poulter. You could be forgiven for thinking this game was a write off. On paper it was, but sport is not played on paper and neither is business.

Once again, Poulter relished the role of underdog. A true underdog. Believing not what the computer ranking system says but listening to his self-belief. Punching above his weight to deliver.

It's been an amazingly exciting start to my business venture and I'll certainly be taking inspiration from the latest chapter in Poulter's book for the big moments. Stay calm, believe in yourself and...like 'The Postman'...deliver.
